Food In NYC

After all our running around at the show, we had to recharge to go back the next day! And there is no better place to recharge than New York because they have the best restaurants. We left each restaurant feeling so stuffed. Almost to the point of being uncomfortable. But, it was totally worth it (especially for this college student who is used to cafeteria food)!

Shake Shack and Pinkberry

This was Oscar Night. When we left the show that day, we had exactly 15 minutes to make it back to the hotel just in time for the Red Carpet. And we booked it to make it back with two minutes to spare! Thank goodness…I didn’t want to miss a second. And my wonderful sister offered to be our pick up and delivery girl for the night. She went out twice for my mom and I. The first time for Shake Shack burgers, which are so unbelievably delicious, and the second time for Pinkberry. Isn’t she just the best?

What we ordered:

Three cheeseburgers

A Hotdog to share

Fries

Chocolate Hazelnut frozen yogurt, chocolate shavings, raspberries, blueberries

Sfoglia

We knew we had to go to Sfoglia because this restaurant was one of our favorites on Nantucket. The restaurant actually began on Nantucket, but then closed and moved to their NYC location (BOOOO!). We missed it terribly, especially the bread, so we made sure to walk down memory lane by eating our favorite dishes here.

What we ordered:

Cheese plate

Pappardelle alla bolognese

Ricotta gnocchi, spicy pork shoulder, leeks, tomato

Chicken al mattone

ABC Kitchen

If you are in New York, you have to make sure you come to this restaurant for dinner one night! From the atmosphere to the plates on the table and of course to all the food, everything was divine. And the restaurant is an addition off of the store, ABC Carpet & Home, so be sure to stop in there too! They had so many unique finds. I was just in love with this place.

What we ordered:

Housemade ricotta, fig compote, grilled bread

Pretzel dusted calamari, marinara and mustard aioli

Roasted butternut squash, hazelnuts, goat cheese and spicy onions

Mushroom, parmesan, oregano, and farm egg pizza

Kasha and bowtie pasta, veal meatballs

Whole wheat cavatelli, rabbit ragu, pecorino

Brussel sprouts with mustard vinaigrette

Donutplant

I am a sucker for donuts. Seriously, it is so hard for me to say no. I can say no to cupcakes, cake, cookies, and just about anything else, but donuts are a weakness for me. And this place had a peanut butter and jelly one…I nearly fainted just at the sight of it.

All of the food was so so yummy and my mouth is watering just thinking about eating the food. I can’t wait for my next visit to NYC so I can try more restaurants!
