Top Picks from the Fall 2015 show!

I can’t believe it. Patty and I just finished our last show for the 2015 season! All the clothing that we will have in the shop this year has been ordered. We hope that we make you proud!!

Style report: Fall is going to be pretty. Think Charlie’s Angels – 70’s inspired, flare jeans, floral prints, chunky sweaters, lace, vests, tassels & crochet details. Colors: Marsala, royal purple, navy, gray, cognac & chocolate.

Fall1Joie, how I love you!  Chic, comfy and always nailing it with the staples.  Here is my absolute favorite piece of the collection – you might have seen this Joie vest from my instagram!  Fall2 Lace was one of the top trends I saw for Fall.  A lace LBD?  I think that’s a great idea! Fall3Pair that Joie dress with some statement earrings (I like the green) and you are set!  Susan Hanover is a new line for Milly & Grace! Fall4

Rebecca Taylor, thank you for making the most beautiful clothing!!  Here is just a snap of a few things we bought.  Fall6

Becky, you outdid yourself with this dress!  I love the nod to the 70’s, the color, the ties, and the texture.  Not to mention, it’s nice to have a little sleeve in the Fall.  It’s all working for me here! Fall5I’m all about the vest for Fall 15!  RT did one too and of course it’s on my list!
Fall7Love Shack baby Love Shack!  This Love Shack Fancy dress is a new style for Fall.Fall9A Gillian Julius bracelet is a staple at Milly & Grace.  Do you have yours yet?  Love this new style with the enamel.
Fall8 Bella Dahl makes the softest shirts.  I particularly love this plaid one.Fall10Fall shoes will be available at Milly & Grace for the first time ever! We’ve been carrying Splendid Spring/Summer shoes and they have been a hit.  They make great styles for a great price.  I LOVE the little fur booties!!
Fall11.jpngRemember we picked up Rebecca Minkoff this season??  Here is my top pick for Fall… however, a gray tuxedo jacket is great all year round!
Fall12 Oh, P.S…we picked up their shoe line too!  How cute are those sandals?Fall13We loved her jewelry so much last year that we were very excited to see what she came up with this year.  Beautifully handmade jewelry by Suzanne Dai. Fall15 A new line! Fiona Paxton.  Love all the elements here: beads, chains, feathers, leather.  Fall14It was hard to pick my favorites from Parker.  They never disappoint. This dress is pretty and unique.Fall16Pair this skirt with a black turtleneck and pumps and you’ve got yourself your holiday party outfit!
Fall17Want to make a statement?  This top has your name on it!
Fall18NYC travel tips: Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho for an afternoon treat!  Home of the Cronut.  But Patty & I liked the DKA better!  We didn’t get the chance to try the cookie shot and I think we missed out.  Bummer…must go back.  Oh, and their granola is delish too!  Highly recommended dinner spots: Fat Radish: order the grilled cheese and the spicy tequila drink!  Everyone is also talking about Buvette and I see why!  Order the Pesto di Parma & the Holiday cocktail.  (Shh.. The breakfast is better!) Fall19Now it’s time to start thinking about putting the store together!! Only 2 more months until we open!! 4.24.15!!

Academy Awards Best Dressed 2015

We are back with Oscars’ Best Dressed!  Let me set the scene for you… I am sitting here in my sweat pants and Sesame Street “All My Homies Are From the Streets” t-shirt (obviously it’s Allison bc the other two wouldn’t be caught dead in lame, mis matching pajamas) writing to you about the best dressed from last night’s Academy Awards…

Rosamund Pike

Everything about this look is DDG (Drop Dead Gorgeous).  I especially love the combo of the unexpected yet conservative neckline and the sexy maxi slit.  Kelly Osborn always comments that the way a dress fits can make or breaks a look.  This has always stuck with me.  As I started to pay attention to this, it has proven to be totally true.  This look is a perfect example.  The dress fits her perfectly and shows off her waistline.  Well done Rosie… I was a little worried after your last 2 looks. (Globes, SAG)

Scarlett Johansson
ScarJo.  Wow!  DDG.  I just love how she made a statement and I love the color.   Now, I’m actually shocked this was one of my favorite looks.  The funny thing is that I don’t especially love the dress, the necklace, the hair on their own but the combo is perfection!  Here is another example of great tailoring.
Lupita Nyong’o
What a show stopper! The detail is so beautiful. The back is so unique.  She looks amazing.
Honorable mention.  GP.  I loved the color, the fit and the one sleeve.  Come on… the flower is pretty

I have a feeling everyone is going to disagree with me.  I probably shouldn’t have told you about my sweatpants and Big Bird t-shirt at 12:30 in the afternoon… Anyways….

Gwyneth Paltrow

I have a soft spot for GP.  She really can do no wrong in my eyes.  She was at the gym bright and early this morning… even after a night at the Oscars!  #Dedicated #Badass.  I told her this morning that she looked absolutely gorgeous last night.  Like Emily said, love the soft pink, the one sleeve, the fit and the flower!

Emma Stone

As I look over my group text from last night, Patty and Caroline did not like Emma’s look.  Well, this girl (me) did.  I loved her hair, hair color, her make up, her lip color, the dress, the color of the dress, the bracelets, the open back, the matching shoes…. loved it!  I thought it was a color combo (dress and lipstick) that hasn’t really been seen on the red carpet!

Naomi Watts

At first, I didn’t even recognize her!  Loved the black and silver.  Loved that she took a risk!  I always love an edgy look!

Honorable Mention: Reese Witherspoon

The reason Reese got my honorable mention was because of her smile!  She was beaming and radiating happiness in this picture!!  Stunningly classic look for the evening.  She also posted a gorgeous picture of her on her Instagram too… Gorge.

Reese Witherspoon

This girl can do no wrong. And that is why she is my number one pick. Seriously, I don’t think she has ever worn something that I didn’t love! She always goes with the classic, timeless, and elegant look. And this time was no different. It was exactly that – classic, timeless, and elegant!

Jennifer Lopez

I was totally shocked when I saw that this was the dress that Jennifer Lopez picked. I was expecting her to choose something skin-tight, but this gown made for a beautiful surprise. Elie Saab is the designer of this dress and he is my all-time favorite. So, it’s not all that surprising that one of his dresses ended up in my top choices, even if who is wearing the dress did surprise me. I think it’s exquisite.

Cate Blanchet

I gasped when I saw Cate. She is absolutely stunning and I think the black gown looked absolutely amazing on her. That turquoise necklace made for the perfect statement piece, being a pop of color that starkly contrasts the black gown and brings out her fiercely blue eyes.

Hope you all enjoyed our Best Dressed!!  The girls have been busy!  Emily just got back from her #Tardymoon to Australia, I have been busy with my production company (Lineage Entertainment Group), and Caroline has been busy with school and helping Mindy Weiss with all her amazing weddings and parties!  Until next time!  XOXO

Universal Studios

It was Hannah’s 21st birthday a couple days ago and we celebrated with donuts in the morning (the breakfast of champions!) and dinner and champagne at The Ivy, an iconic restaurant in LA. But, since it was during the week and we had classes, we didn’t have a whole lot of time to celebrate. So, we continued the celebration into the weekend and decided to go to Universal! I had never been before, but since I am such a huge fan of roller coasters, I could barely contain my excitement.

universal2We started off by taking a tour of the back lot, which was pretty cool! Tons of movies and tv shows have been filmed there throughout the years, so to see the sets in person was such a fun experience.

universal4^^Stage 44. My favorite movie this year and my favorite tv show right now both filmed in the same stage building.  On the right hand side is a city scape that they use in almost all of their films!

universal8^^War of the World Airplane Crash Scene (That’s a real airplane that they destroyed!)

universal5^^parts of Jaws was filmed here!

universal6^^The Grinch was filmed here!

Then, we went on every single ride, only to stop for lunch at the famous Pink’s Hotdogs and to say hello to some characters along the way!

universal13^^Lucy, from I Love Lucy, stopped us and said, “we should take a picture because it would be a blonde, a brunette, and a redhead!” She was too adorable to say no to. And how could we not stop for Homer and Marge?

universal14^^This guy was my favorite. Oh and that girl is too!

Hannah Banana, there are certain people in our lives who just make the world a better place and you are one of those people. Thank you for having the kindest soul, for always cracking me up, for being my family away from family, and for being my kindred spirit. I’m so lucky to be able to call you my best friend. Happy Birthday! I love you lots! xo
