Struggle: All the single ladies… Get AAA!!

Normal day.  Just going to my car to go to the gym.  Car won’t start.  Panic.  Freak out.  What the H – E – double hockey stick do I do?  Call my boyfriend.. oh wait.. don’t have one.  Dad is all the way across the country. Don’t want to call the family freaking out/overreacting. Then I remembered… AAA.  I have never had problems with my car before (knock on the fake wood panel in my car…too late).  Let me tell you ladies… IT WAS SO EASY. They were here in a flash.  Jump started my car.  Gave me advice on what to do next.  Drove over to my car service place.  Pulled right up.  Jesus (Phonetic Pronunciation: HEH-soos) came over and ran a test.  Test came back…REPLACE battery.  Evidence.

They replaced the battery (and washed my car!).

Could have waited here….

Walked across the street. Waited here…

Moral of the story:

1. Get AAA

2. Don’t panic. There is always a solution. It’s never the end of the world.

(Unless, Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis are there boarding a spaceship to go drill a hole in a meteor.)

3. Open your eyes. Carpe Diem.

(I could have sat down and played on my IPhone in the waiting room.  Decided to go for a walk. Watched the sun setting on a beautiful day in LA. Met a seal playing in the water. He did not like getting his photo taken. Contemplated life. This is what life is about. Taking a lemon and making lemonade.)

4. I might be a grown up now.

5. LA really is beautiful.

“Getting to know you, getting to know all about you”… Sing it like Julie Andrews!

Growing up, the Ott family did a lot of moving around…which meant a lot of new schools, new friends, new teachers, new houses, new bedrooms, new grocery stores, new addresses and phone numbers to remember, new… I’ll stop there.  I was not a big fan of starting new schools.  I would cry and cry and be sick to my stomach.  My poor mother.  Anyways, I vividly remember going to my first school assembly at my new school in the second grade and them playing this song (Getting to Know You from the King and I) over and over.  To this day, this song makes me sick to my stomach.  Just thought you all would like to know!

Over the next few days, I will be posting Getting to Know Allison entries (what do I call them? posts, diary entries, information only my mom and cousins are going to read?) … Get excited.  Julie might return as Fraulein Maria with These are a Few of My Favorite Things – Allison edition.
