Same Page Monday

Where do the days go?!? I can’t believe it’s almost APRIL?? Milly & Grace opens in a little over a month?!? Caroline is almost done with her junior year?! WHAT????

I have been running around like a crazy person! What day is it???? Oh yeah, it’s Monday…

Let’s get on the same page!

1. My sisters sent me this… and I was like…. umm…. why are you sending me this?

Whatever.

2. Caroline has been so busy with classes and school work! But as I mentioned before, she’s also been working for one of the biggest wedding planners in LA… Mindy Weiss!! Caroline ABSOLUTELY loves it!! Get ready, Nantucket! You are going to have a kickass… Sorry, Patty…. a kick butt…. wedding planner ready to plan your dream weddings!

3. Emily has been busy getting ready to open the store!! Luckily, she has the cutest little helper ever. Ivy Girl! Ivy has been helping out at the store, supervising the new floors, trying on all the clothes… Emily even has her steaming all the new clothes and writing emails… Ivy is really good at spell checking.

4. I have been crazy busy working on all of our projects for Lineage Entertainment Group! We are developing TV shows, features, a documentary that we are shooting this summer, a non profit acting class, a new poetry night AND MORE!!! Everything that I set out to do when I moved here, is happening now! It is hard to put into words, right now, how I feel about this team/family that I am working with and the projects we are working on. I am one lucky girl!

5. Is everyone watching American Crime?!?!?!? YOU SHOULD BE!!!! My partner, Richard Cabral, is starring in this new drama from Academy Award Winner, John Ridley. This show is pushing boundaries! They set out to create a show that at the heart of it, like at the heart of all of us, we are all human beings and a part of the human race… no matter what skin color, race, religion, gender you are. Love it.

Last week, Lineage Entertainment Group helped to organize a screening with Homeboy Industries and ABC for American Crime. We screened the first two episodes of the new drama and had a Q & A with the cast, one of the writers, executive producers and the creator, John Ridley.

It was an amazing night. AND GUESS WHAT!? CAROLINE AND COLIN GOT TO COME TOO!!!!!!

Top Picks from the Fall 2015 show!

I can’t believe it. Patty and I just finished our last show for the 2015 season! All the clothing that we will have in the shop this year has been ordered. We hope that we make you proud!!

Style report: Fall is going to be pretty. Think Charlie’s Angels – 70’s inspired, flare jeans, floral prints, chunky sweaters, lace, vests, tassels & crochet details. Colors: Marsala, royal purple, navy, gray, cognac & chocolate.

Joie, how I love you! Chic, comfy and always nailing it with the staples. Here is my absolute favorite piece of the collection – you might have seen this Joie vest from my instagram! Lace was one of the top trends I saw for Fall. A lace LBD? I think that’s a great idea! Pair that Joie dress with some statement earrings (I like the green) and you are set! Susan Hanover is a new line for Milly & Grace!

Rebecca Taylor, thank you for making the most beautiful clothing!! Here is just a snap of a few things we bought.

Becky, you outdid yourself with this dress! I love the nod to the 70’s, the color, the ties, and the texture. Not to mention, it’s nice to have a little sleeve in the Fall. It’s all working for me here! I’m all about the vest for Fall 15! RT did one too and of course it’s on my list!
Love Shack baby Love Shack! This Love Shack Fancy dress is a new style for Fall.A Gillian Julius bracelet is a staple at Milly & Grace. Do you have yours yet? Love this new style with the enamel.
Bella Dahl makes the softest shirts. I particularly love this plaid one.Fall shoes will be available at Milly & Grace for the first time ever! We’ve been carrying Splendid Spring/Summer shoes and they have been a hit. They make great styles for a great price. I LOVE the little fur booties!!
Remember we picked up Rebecca Minkoff this season?? Here is my top pick for Fall… however, a gray tuxedo jacket is great all year round!
Oh, P.S…we picked up their shoe line too! How cute are those sandals?We loved her jewelry so much last year that we were very excited to see what she came up with this year. Beautifully handmade jewelry by Suzanne Dai. A new line! Fiona Paxton. Love all the elements here: beads, chains, feathers, leather. It was hard to pick my favorites from Parker. They never disappoint. This dress is pretty and unique.Pair this skirt with a black turtleneck and pumps and you’ve got yourself your holiday party outfit!

NYC travel tips: Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho for an afternoon treat! Home of the Cronut. But Patty & I liked the DKA better! We didn’t get the chance to try the cookie shot and I think we missed out. Bummer…must go back. Oh, and their granola is delish too! Highly recommended dinner spots: Fat Radish: order the grilled cheese and the spicy tequila drink! Everyone is also talking about Buvette and I see why! Order the Pesto di Parma & the Holiday cocktail. (Shh.. The breakfast is better!) Now it’s time to start thinking about putting the store together!! Only 2 more months until we open!! 4.24.15!!
