Checking things off my list! #23 Skinny Dipping

I have just under 4 months to check off everything on my list of things I need to do before I’m 30. There are a few things that need to get done before the summer is over… Like #23 Skinny Dipping. The ocean is already getting cooler!!

We took the boat to the middle of the harbor and jumped in.

It was dark… but here is the proof that I did it!

Vintage Shirt Salt Bath

Is there anything cooler than a cool vintage shirt?

olsen vintage shirt

I don’t think so!  I love vintage t-shirts and sweatshirts.  They are just so cozy.  I love to buy ones that are vintage, made to look vintage or wear them soooo long that they become vintage.  I will wear things till I can’t wear them anymore.  Like this Braves 1995 Championship shirt that my Nanny (Milly) gave to me 18 years ago.

Vintage Braves

This shirt has since been retired, but I keep it as a memory of my Nanny.

I have a few shirts that I love, a UGA shirt, a Boston Strong shirt and a red polo, that haven’t had enough years on them yet.  They are still stiff and not very comfy.  So I found a recipe to turn stiff, new shirts into soft, vintage tees… a Vintage Shirt Salt Bath!

The salt bath seems pretty simple.  The hard thing is that you have to wait 3 days for it to be done!

I poured 8 cups of water and 1 cup of salt into a big bowl!  And that is it.  Let it soak for 3 days and then wash it in woolite.  Some shirts have writing on them that the salt can’t get through, so you might have to use sand paper wear it down.

I am on day 2 of my first shirt… The UGA shirt.  I will keep you posted on how it turns out!

I want to try all different kinds of garments…  T – shirts, polos, sweatshirts!

I hope it works.  If not, I will find another recipe and share with you!

Parasailing

parasailing1

Last week, I took a little vacation to Charleston with Colin and his family. And I really needed that because I kind of sort of really missed him. Anyway, on our first day on the beach Colin and I saw parasailors go by. We both said that we would love to go parasailing one day. I said one day meaning, you know, before I die. And Colin said one day meaning during our few days there in Charleston. (Clearly, he understood the concept of doing things now more than I did. And I love him for that.) That night when we got back to the house, he pulled out his laptop, booked our tickets, and two days later we were 800 feet in the air parasailing over Charleston’s harbor with dolphins swimming below us. (No joke about the dolphins…we really saw them!!)

^^Look how tiny we were! This picture was just to show how high we were in comparison to the boat.

^^They decided to mess with us a little bit and dip us in the water!

Once we got back on the deck of the boat, we both agreed that now that we crossed parasailing off of our bucket list, we are ready to go skydiving (but shhh don’t tell my parents or they might freak out a little!).
