Milly & Grace Happenings!

When I opened up Milly & Grace, I surprised myself at how much I love the creative side of the job.  My background and education had been more “business/numbers focused”.  I knew I would enjoy the buying & the book keeping side of the job,  but what I find most fulfilling is merchandising! Some people paint, some write… I move clothes around.  So, more often than not I like to switch things up and move merchandise around.  This past week I was inspired to change up the clothing!!

Here is a quick peek of the newly merchandised clothes:

^^And NEW up at the register are these cute hair ties handmade by one of our cutest customers, Caroline.  You know how most of these hair ties have frayed edges after a couple uses?? Well, Caroline made sure to finish off every one so fraying wouldn’t happen!

We hope you’ll stop by to say hi and see the new changes in person!

Surfs Up…Not!

This past Saturday was the first day it really felt like summer on Nantucket.  After work, Steve loaded up the boards and off we went to Fisherman’s beach so that I could tackle #28 on my list of 30 things to do before I’m 30 : really learn to surf on my own.

Off I go!

Getting in the water

Unfortunately, the waves weren’t really that great and so I only practiced wiping out.  I should probably read Neil’s surf report on the Nantucket blACKbook before I go next!  On the plus side, it felt so refreshing to be in the water again. (Note: you definitely still need to wear a wetsuit.)

No Waves

I’ll try again next time… I welcome any and all tips from the experts out there.

Right at the top of the stairs to the beach there is a little box called, “The Little Free Library” where beach goers can “take a book and return a book”.   Even though I’ve lived on Nantucket for 7 years, the charm of this island can still catch me by surprise.

To the Men in my LIfe

Happy Father’s Day:

To my dad, who always took care of me and taught me everything I know.

To Steve, the future father of my children, I know you will be so great at it when the time comes. (This is not an announcement of any kind. Do not start any rumors!! AHEM Caroline.)

To Tom, my father in law, for raising his son right and for making me feel a part of the family.
