“Hide Yo Kids, Hide Yo Wife…”

Hi everyone!! It’s been a while since I’ve been on the blog. The last time we spoke I was still in Switzerland, but now I am back in America and it feels good to be home! Emily and I were working hard to get the store ready to open so that’s why we have been MIA for a little while. The store is now open and looks beautiful…have you seen it?? Anyway, since we last spoke, the Easter bunny came to visit us and we had a very happy Easter. I hope you guys did too! Steve’s family was in town and they were kind enough to let me tag along on all the festivities. It started with a lovely brunch.

Then, we piled into cars and drove out to a beach where no one would be around because…we were going shooting! This was the first time Emily and I had shot a shotgun. I’d always wanted to learn and my wish finally came true. We were pretty terrible at shooting clay pigeons on the fly. But, we were able to shoot them when we made them a stationary target. I must say that it was pretty fun.

Spring Beach Campfire

We had the most beautiful weather this past weekend.  It was such sweet relief after a week of gloom.  So, we were left with no choice but to take advantage.  Steve’s family and our friend Tom were out visiting and we thought, “Well, we are on Nantucket – let’s go to the beach!”   We packed up the cars, bundled up and headed out towards Great Point.  It was pretty cold and windy but the sun was shining so we were happy campers. beachfire beachfire2 beachfire3 beachfire4We enjoyed our afternoon Motto!  Tom invented this drink.  It is delicious.  It’s changed my life and I have given up coffee.  I’ve posted about it before. Read the latest news about Motto in the Boston Business Journal!!

A Nantucket Snow Storm – #ACKHERCULES

HERCULES! HERCULES! HERCULES!

On the second day of the storm, Nantucket woke up to a huge, white, fluffy layer of snow.  This meant we had to go sledding!  We all bundled up and headed out for another adventure!   Caroline had never been sledding before.  I know, isn’t that terrible?!  We definitely took her sledding when she was between the ages of 1 and 3, but she obviously doesn’t remember.  She was convinced she could “slip and slide” down our snow covered shell path… but she quickly realized that that doesn’t work!  We then found a huge pile of snow that the plow trucks left in our neighborhood that served as a pretty “epic” sledding hill for us!  AND then we got a call from Steve, inviting us on an adventure.  Steve is the King of Adventure… we knew we were in for some crazy fun!

We put together a little video for you all to see!  Scroll down and hit play!
