The Winner of the Quest for the Best Eggs Benedict

In honor of National Eggs Benedict Day yesterday, I am announcing the winner to the best Eggs Benedict I’ve tried in the LA area!

I had such a fun time trying out so many places and I know I have a found a couple restaurants in particular that I will be back to plenty more times in my next few years here!

I had a bit of a tough time choosing which was my favorite Eggs Benedict…and I realized I was focusing more on which restaurant I loved instead of just focusing on the dish. And choosing my favorite restaurant is much too hard, so I’m glad that isn’t what I have to choose. My favorite Eggs Benedict was not a hard decision, once I realized what my problem was. So, without further ado, the winner of the Quest for the Best Breakfast is…

Best Breakfast 1 Best Breakfast 2

SADDLE PEAK LODGE – The croissant definitely won me over!

But if you are in town and you are looking for places to go for breakfast with a fun experience, my top favorite restaurants (since I can’t pick just one) were The Griddle, Bottega Louie, and The Beverly Hills Hotel!

I hope you all have a very Happy {Late}National Eggs Benedict Day!

Quest for the Best Breakfast: Bottega Louie

I think I have found one of my new favorite breakfast spots….Bottega Louie! I had heard so many wonderful things about this restaurant and I knew I had to try it before I announced my winner of the best Eggs Benedict quest tomorrow!

The atmosphere was so wonderful with the tall ceilings, huge windows, white subway tile, crown molding, and gold accents. I almost couldn’t handle all the pretty. And for about an hour, I didn’t feel like I was in LA…but instead, somewhere in Europe!

Not only did Bottega Louie master the design of the restaurant, but the food was also pretty wonderful! The hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Benedict was definitely one of the best I have ever had. And the dish as a whole is certainly a contender (as of this moment…I’m still not quite sure which dish I’m going to pick!). The Italian Scramble Allie ordered was so full of flavor and delicious! Oh, and don’t even get me started on the Beignets; they were heavenly! Bottega Louie 1

^^Beignets! I could eat 1,000,000 more of these and never get tired of them.

Bottega Louie 17Well, that wraps up the quest! I think I’ll have to start making a couple pro con lists to pick the winner. Make sure to check back tomorrow for the results! Have a wonderful Monday.

Quest for the Best Breakfast: Saddle Peak Lodge

In last week’s “Quest for the Best Breakfast” post, I mentioned that I had heard of a place that serves their Eggs Benedict dish on a croissant! It all sounded like a dream. So, of course, Allie and I had to make that dream come true!

Yesterday, we headed over to that place tucked away in Malibu Canyon called Saddle Peak Lodge.

And it is true. They serve their Eggs Benedict dish on a croissant. With bacon. Not just Canadian bacon…real bacon. I could not wait to try it out, and it definitely did not disappoint me! I mean, how could it have?

And Allie ordered the Banana French Toast (are we seeing a pattern??)!

I liked the Polo Lounge’s Banana French Toast better.

But, both dishes were delicious! Especially the Eggs Benedict. I have a good feeling about this one! But, I still have a couple more weeks until I decide who the Eggs Benedict winner is. Each week seems to get better and better…let’s see if Saddle Peak Lodge’s dish will make it until the end!

Stay tuned!
